JAFAK Cup: Airforce, Excellency, House of Prayer FC record slim win

As the maiden edition of JAFAK Cup entered Match Day 3 yesterday, no fewer than three clubs secured slim victories while Abacha FC defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 in the opening match of the tournament played inside the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Monday.
Santos and Champion FC shared the spoils (2-2) in the second match of the tourney played at the same venue while on Tuesday, at the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) pitch, House of Prayer defeated Nationwide FC courtesy of a lone goal from Isiah Adama scored in the 6th minute of the match. In the second match of the day, La Planet ad Stafford FC drew 1-1 with Nathaniel Charles scoring in the 69th minute and Lukman scoring in the 42nd minute for the home and away team respectively.
In a match witnessed, yesterday by former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer and former coach of University of Ilorin, Amusa Adisa and the Technical Director of KFA and ex-international, Sam Elijah, Airforce FC secured a late 3-2 win over Super Utd. The game turned out to be an explosive encounter and the highest scoring match so far,
Airforce shot into the lead in the 8th minute through Uthman Uthman while Shehu Razaq added the second 10minutes later. Super Utd however got to quick goals after Airforce FC goalkeeper mishandled the ball. Muri Muhammed later equalized for United before Razaq scored his second of the day in the 85th minute to hand Airforce a win. The victors however finished the match with 10 players after their captain, Nuhu Abdulhafis was issued a straight red card in the 87th minute for allegedly insulting the assistant referee.
Earlier, Excellency secured a 1-0 win over Delmerk FC with Andrew Mathew turning out the match hero courtesy of his 75th minute strike.
A total of 15 goals have been scored in 6 matches so far with an average of two goals per match. Meanwhile, all the matches played so far has produced goals with the encounter between House of Prayer and Nationwide producing the least number of goals (one).
On Thursday (today), Golden Waves will lock horns with All Stars FC 8am while Okaa Sports will take on Rising Stars 10am at the KFA pitch. On Friday, it will be the turn of Golden Stars and Champion FC while Abacha and Santos will take to the pitch in the second match of the day at same venue.
