Kwara workers to receive salaries this week – Gov’s aide
…we’re already getting alerts – NLC

Civil servants in Kwara State will be paid their salaries for the month of March, this week.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the state capital, yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed said that the delay in the payment of salaries was largely due to challenges with the government’s normal revenue sources.
He, however, said the issues would be resolved while workers would start receiving their salaries this week.
Speaking further, the Governor’s aide assured that the salaries would be paid in full, contrary to speculations that plans were underway to pay workers in percentages and batches.
He expressed gratitude to the workers for their patience and appealed to them to bear with the state government while it was working hard to tackle the issue.
Meanwhile, when contacted on the telephone last night, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kwara State, Com Yekeen Agubiade confirmed the receipt of bank alerts by some workers in the state.
The Chairman who made the disclosure during a telephone conversion with this medium said, “Some of us have received bank alert for March salary. I have received mine and other colleagues including the pensioners too.”
He however urged Kwara civil servants to be law abiding and to carry out their duties in order to lift the state to greater height.
