Lagos trader arraigned for stealing church property in Ilorin

The Magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital has on Tuesday remanded one Yusuf Kamorudeen over alledged stealing of church musical instruments worth N450,000.00.
The police First Information  Report (FIR) revealed that on the 8th April, 2019 at about 6:30 am, patrol operatives from Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) on patrol recieved distress call from control room directing them to make arrest of some hoodlums at Kasmag Motor park area Ilorin. The men swung into action and arrest was made of one Yusuf Kamorudeen of No. 8 Olorunsola, Lagos who was found with some musical instruments belonging to the Redeemed Christian Church, Agbo Oba Area, Ilorin while his accomplice Micheal Chikudi of Agbo Oba area, Ilorin, now at large escaped before police arrived at the scene.
The FIR further revealed that the musical instruments recovered are, slave worth N180, 000.00, mixer N150, 000.00 and key board N120, 000.00.
Investigation conducted at SARS office revealed that Kamorudeen and Chikwudi criminally conspired and broke into the church and stole the instruments.
He was dragged before Magistrate Olumuyiwa Abayomi for criminal conspiracy, house breaking and theft, contrary to section 97, 349 and 288 of penal code law. The accused however pleaded not guilty of the offence.
The prosecutor, Nasirudeen Yusuf prayed the court to remand the accused person based on his plea.
He further said, investigation is ongoing on the matter.
Magistrate Abayomi remanded the accused person to prison custody, meanwhile the matter was adjourned to 25th April, 2019.
Speaking on the matter, the Zonal Pastor of the church, Joseph Adehunsi said “we got to the church around 6:00am and discovered that two of our church burglary proofs have been damaged and we also noticed that our instruments, which include a slave, mixer and key board were missing. Not knowing what to do, a woman (not our member) who saw the duo during their operation traced them to Kasmag motor park area where they where apprehended.
