Ilorin Police School Relocation: Magaji Nda solicits Saraki, Gov Ahmed’s intervention
The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has been advised to resend the order of moving the Nigeria Police Public Relations School in Ilorin to other parts of the country.
Also, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari have been called upon to wade into the issue for the progress of the state.
The Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Solihu Woru-Muhammed gave the advice while speaking with newsmen on the importance of the school in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Alhaji Woru-Muhammed said the foundation stone for the school was laid in Kulende, Ilorin, last January, adding that the establishment of the school will enhance Police Public Relations in Nigeria.
He also appealed to the IG to make the Police Secondary School in Bala, Asa Local Government Area of the state to materialise for the benefit of the country.
The Magaji Nda, who is a retired superintendent of Police, said the establishment of the school will create collaborations based on mutual respect and understanding among the Police Public Relation Officers.
He said PPROs who are saddled with the responsibility of standing in for the police must be equipped with the skills to carry out their assignments.
Woru-Muhammed, who doubles as the Otun Agba-Akin of Share land, stressed the need to constantly inform the public of the achievements of the Nigeria Police Force to improve public perception.
He noted that the professional course was a right step in the right direction targeted at updating the practice of Public Relations in the Nigeria Police.
