Kwara shines at African U-18, U-20 Championship in CIV
The arrival of the Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Muideen Olaniyi Alalade in Cote D’voire was a huge tonic for Nigerian contingents as the number of medals won increased to 26.
Alalade joined the Nigerian team at the ongoing Africa U-18 and 20 Championship in Abidjan, the capital city of Cote d’Ivoire on Friday and served as moral booster to the team.
The continent is made up of 5 athletes from Kwara coached by Adeyemi who is one of the National Team Coaches at the competition.
Speaking with the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Olalekan Issa-Onilu, the Commissioner said the athletes were making Kwara proud with their excellent performance.
Alalade asserted that Kwara is a hub of talents when sports were being discussed in Nigeria and Africa at large.
He urged African Federation to appreciate the wonderful performance of the team and encourage all states to develop in sports generally.
The sports administrator advocated motivation and encouragement for athletes to ensure better performance.
