Kwara FA election holds June 13
Date for the 2019 Kwara State Football Association election ealier scheduled to hold on June 20th, 2019 have been shifted due to 2019 African Cup of Nations, coming up in June in Egypt.
Speaking with newsmen after the congress yesterday in Ilorin, the outgoing Chairman, Mallam Busari Ishola said the congress has unanimously agreed to shift the date to June 13, 2019.
“Before the election were postponed, the congress had already taken the decisions on date and other arrangements for the election but we discovered that the date we fixed for the election is likely to clash with Afcon championship. There was need for the congress to look at it again and give us a new date.
“In view of that, the congress of Kwara football association we decided to meet today and resolve to change the date of election from 21st of June 13th of June, 2019.”
The congress also agreed an increment in the sales of forms for the participants to enable them pay the running costs for the electoral body.
Reacting to congress decision, the two major candidate for the chairmanship position, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Owolabi Wopa and Alhaji Toyin Olokoba said they were satisfied with the decision of the congress.
