Crisis brews in NAKSS following alleged impeachment of President

…I remain in-charge, says Mancha

Crisis may have engulfed the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) following the alleged removal of its President, Comrade Musa Mohammed Mancha over his studentship status at the University of Ilorin.
This was contained in a press release last Thursday following a letter reportedly sent by the institution to the office of the Special Adviser on Students and Labour Matters to the Kwara State Governor, Comrade Bisi Fakayode and made available to NAKSS that Mancha is no longer a student of Unilorin.
However, in his reaction, Comrade Mancha said he remains the President of NAKSS even as he debunked stepping down from his role as stated in a press release signed by the Director General and Clerk  of the association.
Mancha in a statement made available at the weekend said, “With reference to the purported press release signed by Director General (who out rightly denied not signatory and was never part of the secret meeting) and clerk whose offices have no authority to step any member of the association down without due procedures, I hereby disclaim such press statement as it has no constitutional provision.
“It is worthy of note that National NAKSS is a government on its own with four arms (Executive, Legislative, Judicial Councils and Congress). In this regard, the executive arm has no single right to step any member of the association down for whatsoever reason and the legislative council never had any senate sitting since after the inauguration of the electoral committee to conduct election on 4th May, 2019 for the transition to the next administration.”
The statement further said if anyone wishes to challenge Mancha’s position as the NAKSS National President for any reason, the legislative council should be written officially and a senate sitting shall be call to set up a committee to investigate the claimed reason for necessary actions by the association.
Meanwhile, the statement claimed that information has reached the national headquarter of NAKSS that Comr Abdullahi Ibrahim Paranti, who happens to be ‘desperate and hungry for power’ with hidden agenda politically is not a student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti or any institution as claimed.
“On this note, Comr. Paranti has no any constitutional position to even want-to-be acting president.
“I hereby implore the general public to disregard such fake news as I remain the NAKSS National President and I also call the attention of the security personnel to arrest anyone impersonating my office,” Mancha stated.
