The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari for embarking on a private trip to United Kingdom (UK).
While speaking on the issue on Channel Television news at 10 monitored in Ilorin last night, the Deputy Chairman of the party, Yemi Akinwonmi claimed that the president is being insensitive to the series of security challenges confronting the country.
Akinwonmi added that it’s wrong for the President who is the Commander of the Armed Forces to leave the country at a time his service on security issues is most needed.
The party chieftain maintained that Buhari government has not been able to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the country following killings in different parts of the country that has continued unabated.
According to him, government has not been able to fight Boko Haram insurgency as claimed, saying citizens at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps have continued to increase.
“Government claimed Boko Haram insurgency has been dealt with, why are our citizens increasing at the IDP camps, why are those ones in there not gone home? They told us it has been suppressed…” Akinwonmi said.
