Gov Ahmed urges Kwarans to support incoming administration

 

…as Nat’l Moonlight marks 5th anniversary

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has urged the people of Kwara State to support the incoming administration in the state.
The Governor made this known on Friday at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin during the 5th anniversary and award night of National Moonlight Newspaper.
Ahmed, who was given an award for Leadership in Social-Economic Transformation of Kwara State at the event, charged Kwarans to support the new government for the betterment of all.
According to him, I want to urge you all to give the incoming administration all the support so that they can come out and give us a better Kwara.
“We went into the last election, and by the Grace of Allah we will be having a new government on 29th May.
“I want to urge you all to give the incoming administration all the needed support in order to ensure the Kwara of our dream, ” he said.
He however appreciated the people of the state for their support, adding that the development witnessed under his administration would not have been possible without peace.
“What we have achieved in the last eight years wouldn’t have been possible without all of you,” Ahmed added.
The Governor however applauded the management and staff of National Moonlight Newspaper for the award and for giving his government, robust reportage.
“Let me start by thanking National Moonlight Newspaper for this singular honour. Since we came onboard, several organisations have recognised our efforts, but this award is special, ” he noted.
Earlier, the publisher of the newspaper, Alhaji Sulyman Olokoba extolled the leadership qualities of Governor Ahmed.
“In the past five years at National Moonlight, we have remained at the forefront of uplifting the standard of living of our people and striving for a better society.
“We have also been consistent in publicising government activities while acting as advocates for the people and supporting industrial growth in the state,” Olokoba said.
He added that the management of the publication fervently believes that the most important asset of any society is its human capital.
“That is why we have instituted National Moonlight Award of Excellence in four different categories.”
Other award recipients at the event were; the founder of Al-Hikmah University of Ilorin and the Jagunmolu of Igbomina, Chief Abdulraheem Oladimeji, Ace actor, Kunle Afolayan and Engr. Lanre Sagaya.
Among other awardees at the occasion includes, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad, Emir of Shonga, Dr. Haliru Yahaya and Chairman, KW-IRS, Prof. Muritala Awodun
