The Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Soliu Woru Mohamed has called for improved security vigilance on palaces of Emirs and other traditional rulers in Kwara State following the rising state of insecurity in the country.
According to the Magaji Nda, in a telephone chat last night, the call became necessary in the light of the worsening security situation in the country.
The former police chief with over three decades of experience as police Officer said there is need for the security operatives to be vigilant and cognizance of new settlers in the state.
“I read in the papers today about the insecurity across the country especially that which happened in Katsina, the home state of the President which led to the kidnapping of a traditional ruler, Magaji Ngeri Daura.
“There is need for our security operatives to be on the watch out and be extra vigilant particularly on the new settlers in Kanbi, in Moro local government, and Oko-Olowo to look out for new faces and likely suspects especially around residents of the district heads in Bode-Saadu and Bala among other towns and villages.
“We appeal to the law enforcement agents to be on the lookout in this period of Ramadan and the populace should assist the operatives by providing them with useful information.
“Those bandits that are being chased out of Zamara are looking for another safe haven and Kwara shares boundary with Minna. So they can exploit the Jebba route.
“Kwara State is a state of peace and harmony and we can only consolidate on that by assisting the police and other law enforcement agents with information. So security agencies should be vigilance and re-doubled efforts around the palace of the Emir and other traditional rulers”, he added.
