Kwara Gov swears-in 4 judicial officers

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abddulfatah Ahmed has sworn-in two High Court judges and two Sharia Court of Appeal Khadis with a call on them to bring to bear their wealth of experience in administration and dispensation of justice in the state.
Governor Ahmed at the swearing in ceremony held at Council Chamber of the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin said appointment of the newly sworn-in judges was based on recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
He expressed optimism that the newly sworn-in judges would enhance the rule of law and accelerate quick dispensation of justice, which the administration is known for.
In his speech, the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN commended the administration’s acknowledgement of the rule of law and efforts to aid judicial sector in the state.
He also charged the newly sworn-in judges to join in the effort to sanctify the altar of justice, especially in the state, emphasising that judicial office is a form of service that demands much from its holders.
He said, “The swearing-in ceremony is indeed the testimony to show that this administration is living up to its billing in upholding prosperity in this state.
“It is an established fact that the judicial power of the state is vested in the judiciary by virtue of Section 6 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In order to meet up with the increasing workload, machinery was put in place to select judges to join forces with the competent judges already manning the courts. This development led to nomination of candidates by the Judicial Service Commission and thereafter, the recommendation by the National Judicial Commission.”
Responding on behalf of the newly sworn- in judges, Justice Adegbite Olalekan appreciated Governor Ahmed for the honour and privilege to serve even as he assured that they will discharge their duties effectively.
The newly sworn-in judges are; Justice Adegbite, Justice Hammed Aliyu Gegele, Khadi Sharafa Olawale Hanafi and Khadi Abdulraheem Sayi.
