Asa Football Council suspends Chairman
The Chairman of Asa Local Government Football Council, Alhaji Adeshina Bello has been suspended from office, with just eight days to the State Football Association elections.
The State Football Association election holds on June 13th, at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Council, Ilorin.
In a letter signed by the Secretary and other members, and made available to journalists, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Duro Mohammed has been elected as the new Chairman, with immediate effect.
The decisions were taken at the meeting held on Thursday May 30th, and the development has been communicated to the State FA, Kwara FA Electoral Committee and the Chairman, Asa Local Government.
Alhaji Bello was suspended for what was termed ‘lackadaisical attitude and arrogance’.
‘Alhaji Bello has seized to be our Chairman, and he cannot represent Asa Local Government Football Council at any function henceforth’, the letter read in part.
A vote of no confidence was earlier passed on Alhaji Bello at a meeting he failed to attend, and the decision was said to have been communicated to him in a letter, copies of which were also made available to the State FA and the Chairman of the Local Government.
Asa Local Government Football Council was inaugurated late last year with Alhaji Bello as Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Duro Mohammed as Vice Chairman, and Amao Opeyemi as Secretary. Other members are Memudu Rasheed Ayodeji, Ibrahim Ajao and Alhaji Bayo Abdulraheem.
