The National President, Ilorin Emirate Integrity Youth Vanguard (IEIYV), Mallam Alaburo AbdulSalam Sheriff has praised the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki over the appointment of former minister of National Planning, Prof Abubakar Olanrewaju Suleiman.
Suleiman was appointed as the new Director-General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) last week.
He was inaugurated alongside other members of the institute at a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to Sheriff, Saraki has been a strong supporter of the cause of the emirate and its indigenes and has used his positions that Allah has bestowed on him to advance the progress and development of his community back home.
He expressed confidence that the former minister will not disappoint in his new assignment considering his capacity and sound legislative knowledge as a professor of Political Science and International Relations, adding that the emirate youth are proud of the achievement of the Senate President, Prof Suleiman and other sons and daughters of the emirate doing the community proud in their various assignments.
Suleiman whose appointment was facilitated by Saraki was announced as the DG of the institute last week and was asked to resume with immediate effect.
In a letter dated 28th May, 2019, conveying this appointment, the Senate President stated that “I have found your credentials eminently satisfactory for the stipulated requirement for appointment as Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies”.
He takes over from Dr. Adeyemi Fajingbesi, who was the Acting Director General, following the end of tenure of Professor Ladi Hamalai.
