Sallah Celebration: One dies, 5 injured in Ilorin auto crash

Tragedy struck in the Adeta area of Ilorin, Kwara State on Tuesday, when an unidentified man died in an autocrash while returning from praying ground where he had gone to observe the Eid prayer.
According to eyewitnesses, the man died following an headlong collision of two motorcycles, leaving five others injured including a child.
It was gathered that the injured victims suffered various degrees of fracture on their legs and arms.
Speaking to National Pilot, a resident of the area, who simply identified himself as Lanre, explained that the accident occurred as a result of overspeeding on the part of the deceased.
“The deceased who was obviously in celebratory mood was riding his motorcycle at high speed. His motorcycle was overloaded as he had three other people on the motorcycle at the time of the passenger.
“People within the vicinity were alarmed at the speed at which the man was riding his motorcycle and some tried to caution him.
” The motorcyclist died on the spot while his three passengers suffered fractures. The rider of the other motorcycle involved in the crash and his passenger; a child also suffered fracture.
In a related development, two unidentified men were also involved in an accident in the Adewole Area of Ilorin, on their way home from Eid prayering ground on Tuesday.
It was learnt that the motorcycle that they rode ran into a ditch while the victims suffered fractures on their legs.
