Former English Premier League champions, Leicester City have announce the exit of FIFA U-17 World Cup winning midfielder, Habib Makanjuola after two seasons at the club along with other eight players 9aijasport reports.
The ex-Golden Eaglets player who was on the books of Chelsea while representing the country in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirate was the youngest player in the Manu Garba’s winning squad but didn’t get to feature for the side in the tournament.
The 20-year-old who joined the Foxes after a successful trial with the U-23 side, in which he scored in a 2-1 loss to Leamington is released by the Foxes after failing to secure a work permit.
Makanjuola who joined Championship side Birmingham City after leaving Chelsea did not make any appearance for the side in his two years star.
His situation with the work permit will not change this season as he is yet to feature for the Nigeria national team and is not looking likely he would get a chance with the national team considering the abundance of talent in the squad.
Other Eagles player like, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have been retained while promising winger Layton Ndukwu and left-back Calvin Ughelumba have extended their contracts.
