Members of the main durbar committee led by its Chairman, Engr Yahaya
Alapansanpa on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Ilorin,
Maimataba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari in his palace where the monarch
expressed appreciation to the committee for organising a befitting and
historic Durbar in 2018.
The Emir who offered special prayers for members of the committee
assured that he would do everything possible to sustain the cultural
event even as he praised them for their accountability and
transparency throughout the epoch making event.
He however enjoined all sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate to
join hands with the committee to ensure a hitch free future
celebration adding that the Durbar event has come to stay.
According to him, the event would further bring the people of the
emirate under one umbrella.
The monarch used the opportunity to appeal to the people of the
emirate to continue to love one another and ensure meaningful
development of the community. He however cautioned youths against all
forms of social vices.
Earlier, the Chairman, Engr Alapansanpa informed the Emir that
preparations have commenced in earnest for a hitch free 2019 Durbar.
He therefore solicited for the support of all sons and daughters of
the Emirate for the forthcoming event.
He pledged that the next Durbar would be more elaborate, better
organised and successful just as he assured that accountability would
be their watchword.
