Education, key to solving nation’s problems – Kwara Dep Gov

The Kwara State Government has pledged to address the dwindling trend
in the education sector to ensure the development of the people and
the state.
The state Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi made the promise yesterday in
Ilorin while playing host to members of the Offa Grammar School Old
Students Association led by the Ilorin Branch Chairman, Alhaji Yahaya
Ahmed in his office.
Alabi, who explained that the state and nation need quality education
to drive development added that the foundation which is the Primary
and secondary schools would be given necessary attention.
The Deputy Governor noted that the present administration would invest
in the education sector describing it as the key to the nation’s
problems and Youth Development.
He called on the people to be humble describing his appointment and
their victory at the poll as divine.
Alabi appealed to the people to pray for the success of the present
administration in its task and desire to fix the state.
Earlier, Alhaji Ahmed who felicitated with the Deputy Governor on
their victory stating that it was a confirmation that the people
really desired change.
He however pledged the support of his group to the government even as
he charged the present administration to strive to leave Kwara State
better.
Also while receiving members of the Ifelodun Chapter of the All
Progressives Congress APC, Mr Alabi implored the people to be united
and rally round the present government.
The Deputy Governor charged them to be loyal and embrace peace to
ensure the progress and development of the State.
He promised that government would pay attention to road construction
to boost farming activities among others.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Mohammed Awobimpe commended
the government for taking bold steps in their desire to move the State
forward.
Alhaji Awobimpe pledged their support to the government urging it to
pay attention to the development of the state particularly the rural
areas.
The Deputy Governor had earlier received the executives of the Kwara
State Christian Public Servant Fellowship led by its President, Pastor
Sunday Fawoye.
Fawoye prayed to God to use the present administration as agent to
liberate and restore the lost glory of the fellowship and the state in
general.
… inaugurates 13-man Think Tank C’ttee for Kwara South

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi has inaugurated a 13-man
Kwara South Senatorial District Think-Tank/Advisory Committee in his
bid to run a fair, just and an inclusive government in the state.
The Committee is headed by Sen. Sulaiman Makanjuola Ajadi to be
assisted by Engr. Ben Oyeyemi while Dr Fatai Bello will serve as the
Secretary.
Other members of the committee are; Chief Rex Olawoye, Mr Samuel
Olafasobu, Chief Abel Agboola Adewumi, Alhaja Farida Dankaka, Chief
Iyiola Oyedepo, Elder Sunday Oladiji, Elder J. B. Ayeni, Barrister
Hassan Kehinde Garba, Chief Richard Olaniyi Olusola, and Alhaji
Sulyman Olowookere.
The membership of the committee was drawn from Offa, Oyun, Irepodun,
Ifelodun, Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero local government areas of the state.
Inaugurating the committee in his office, the Deputy Governor
explained that their term of reference was to ensure cohesion and
stability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Kwara South
Senatorial District.
“In my bid for inclusive governance, alongside the Executive Governor
of Kwara State, His Excellency, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, I resolved in
my wisdom as the Deputy Governor of Kwara State to create a committee
which should be regarded as Think-Tank/ Advisory in nature for our
collective success,” he said.
He said the committee was to provide blueprint/proposal to the Deputy
Governor in order to fast track socio-economic development of the
entire Kwara State Senatorial District.
The Deputy Governor advised the committee to work assiduously with the
people of the District in order to ascertain their problems and to
also ensure youths and the less privileged are targeted for
government’s patronage.
He noted that the present administration would leave no stone unturned
in its determination to develop the state.
Responding on behalf of members of the committee, the Chairman, Sen.
Ajadi appreciated the Deputy Governor for the honour to serve,
pledging not to disappoint in the task of developing Kwara South and
the state in general.
Senator Ajadi who explained that members of the committee were picked
based on merit however charged them to work for the success of the
present administration.
