Okada/KWARTMA Clash: Kwara police arrests principal suspect

The men of Kwara State Police command have arrested the principal suspect, Kehinde Wahab (a.k.a OJO) in the clash between commercial motorcyclists and Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), which occurred penultimate Tuesday.
He was arrested on Wednesday for his involvement in the act that caused public disturbance in Ilorin, the state capital.
Pilot Crime gathered that, the suspect, who hails from Isale Banni, Alore in Ilorin West Local Government Area was once arrested for possession of stolen car in Ekiti State, three years ago.
Our reporter gathered that, the suspect is a close friend to Kazeem Issa who is currently in remand at the Nigeria Prison Service, Mandala in Kwara, over same case.
Pilot Crime further learnt that, Ojo is also a member of commercial motorcyclists and spear headed the crisis that led to the destruction of the association buildings and KWARTMA office on the fateful day.
Reacting to his arrest, the Union President, Alhaji Fatai Oladimeji confirmed that the suspect collaborated with Kazeem Issa and others to foment trouble.
Meanwhile, a police source confirmed the arrest of the principal suspect to this medium, adding that investigation is ongoing into the matter.
Effort to get the state Police Spokesperson, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi on the development proved abortive as calls and text messages to his mobile phone did not go through at the time of filling this report.
It would be recalled that five suspects had been earlier arrested in connection to the clash and were paraded on Wednesday at the state Police Headquarters.
The five suspects were arraigned and remanded in federal prison while the matter has been adjourned to 15th July,2019.
