The Chairman of Kwara United FC of Ilorin, Prince Oladimeji Thompson, has been honoured with an honorary membership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara chapter.
This also qualifies him as the Patron of the association in the state.
The Chairman of the association in the state, Jimoh Bashir and his Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa confirmed this on Sunday when they presented Prince Thompson his appointment letter.
Bashir told the Kwara United chairman that the executive in the state took the decision to award him the honour because of his support to members of the association and the body itself.
The Kwara SWAN chairman explained that Prince Thompson has been contributing to the development of humanity through sport and the honour is in the appropriation to his contributions to sports.
It is also a way of motivating him to do more, especially for the teeming youth who are yearning for a credible platform to rise to stardom.
Responding, Prince Thompson, who expressed his happiness over the honour, thanked the association for the recognition.
Thompson promised not to relent on his support to the association even as he pledged to continue to partner SWAN in achieving the best in sports reportage.
