I started business to unveil my creativity – CEO, Buntex Wears
Mrs. Olubunmi Damien is the Chief Executive Officer of Buntex Wears located in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
She ventured into tailoring business to showcase her innate talent.
The graduate of University of Ilorin revealed that her love for fashion from childhood motivated her learn how to sew clothes.
She said, “When I was growing up I used to pay visit to a woman in my neighborhood, who was a tailor by profession, from there I started learning how to sew clothes. Though, my mother discouraged me by urging me to focus on my education.
“I actually studied Business Management but after my service year in 2014, I decided to set up my business; that is selling different kinds of lace materials and sewing for customers that were interested in my designs.
“Actually, getting a white collar job wasn’t in my plans because I already knew where I was going. I have never dreamt of seeking office job because I simply don’t want be used by any employer.
The CEO, however, counselled youths that without pain there can never be gain. “They should try to utilise their youthful energy for meaningful ventures. They may fall but they will definitely learn series of lessons that will make them rise again,” she added.
