Kwara Deputy Gov urges youths to strive for excellence

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi has urged youths to stay focused and strive to become authority in their chosen career and professions.
He gave the charge on Friday while speaking at the 72nd speech and prize giving day of Offa Grammar School, Offa Local Government Area of the state.
The Deputy Governor called on youths to shun socio-vices and work towards achieving their dreams by pursuing their goals academically.
“Today, OGS has produced Judges, Medical Doctors, great Lawyers, Engineers and Professors in various academic fields. You too can be part of this roll call so that your name would become a household in the world,” he added.
Alabi, who was also a product of the school implored the youth to exhibit and embrace moral value in order to be successful and respected in the society.
The Deputy Governor stressed, “Our natives today produce criminals not because it is their nature to do so, but because our simple system of order and tradition has been destroyed”.
“Let me also add, that we have Boko Haram, kidnappers because of social injustice. We will be deceiving ourselves if we yearn for unity and mutual co-existence when injustice reigns.”
He however frowned at the lack of attention for the education sector by the past administrations pledging that the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led government is determined to fix the rot in the sector.
The Deputy Governor called on the people to keep supporting the present administration and shun rumour mongering and fake news.
Speaking on the Topic “What do you want to do with your life”, the Guest Speaker, Adegboye Olusegun charged the students to be disciplined and be serious with their studies to excel in life.
He urged parents to play their role effectively and encourage their children to develop their talents and passion in choosing the right career.
Earlier the Principal, Fatai Balogun highlighted the academic performance of the school and challenges.
Balogun however acknowledged the contributions and support of individuals and organisations.
