Igbomina youths canvass qualitative leadership in Nigeria

The Igbomina Youth Assembly in collaboration with Olive Community Development Initiatives have called for qualitative leadership in the country with better communication network among the populace.
The President of the Assembly, Comrade Adewumi Adekunle James made the disclosure during a one day Leadership Seminar organised in Ilorin last weekend.
Speaking on the theme: Education and Communication: ‘Addressing leadership qualities and community development among youths,’ he said, “We deemed it fit that this programme will contribute to the development of this country when our future leaders have proper orientation on agenda and policies of achieving good governance.”
Speaking further, he stressed that the event will also unite all Igbomina youths through proffering common goals to develop their various communities.
In his remarks, the Kwara State Chairman of National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Ali Nasiru Yusuf said that leadership with integrity in politics and religion is becoming a rare feature in the country.
According to him, there is an urgent need for Nigerians to make sacrifice in order to make the county a better place for all.
“We should initiate policies at all levels which can focus on equipping leaders to reflect deeply on issues facing our society and to see how they can offer themselves to become advocacy of true change in the society.”
The Chairman appreciated the assembly for initiating such programme at this critical period that the country is being confronted with a lot criminal activities being perpetrated by the youth.
In his remarks, the Guest Speaker, Adekeke Emmanuel Segun who spoke on ‘Importance of education in the contemporary society’ noted that an erudite will continue to safeguard the norms, culture and value of his society.
