Pakata Pry School sends SOS to Gov Abdulrazaq, security agents
Pakata ‘A’ LGEA Primary and Pakata Junior Secondary School, Ilorin on Tuesday sent a ‘Save our Soul’ message to the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, state Police Command and other security agents in the state to check the invasion of the schools and incessant property theft by suspected hoodlums in the area.
According to reports, the hoodlums after the close of school constantly invade the premises to smoke Indian hemp and thereafter cart away valuable property from the classrooms, staff room and offices of the headmistress and principal.
Speaking with newsmen in her office, the Headmistress of Pakata ‘A’ Primary School, Hajjia Khadijat Issa Bale, lamented the nefarious activities of the suspected hoodlums.
She said, “It is becoming too alarming when you get to school premises and discovered that everywhere had been scattered, ceiling had been broken and cabinets where things are kept had been tampered with ditto other places.
“I’m devastated and confused. I was called by my security guard this morning only to be told that the hoodlums had burgled my office and had carted away all the valuable items in my wardrobe and cupboard.”
Commenting on the security lapses in the school, the headmistress said, “As big as this school is, there is no security personnel to watch over the premises. The only security we have was the one I personally employed and I pay his salary from my pocket.
She listed items stolen to include; packet of biro, teaching and learning materials, money and beverages for the entertainment of visitors among other valuables.
“The most annoying part is that anytime they want to perpetrate their heinous act, they shatter the ceilings.”
The headmistress however pleaded with Governor Abdulrazaq, security agents and other concerned authorities to rescue the school from activities of the suspected miscreants.
