Traditional rulers, Olokoba declare support for Kwara FA
Traditional rulers in Kwara south have pledged their support to the state football association.
The rulers declared their support after receiving the Football association body led by its chairman, Mallam Idris Musa on Monday.
The olosi of Osi, Oba Salihu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe expressed appreciation to the board for visiting his community.
The Royal Majesty charged the football body to carry out their work diligently while wishing them a successful tenure.
“I believe we have competent hands on board and I also believe you shall excel with the responsibilities in office”. He said.
In his submission, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti declared support for the body on behalf of his kingdom.
He drew attention to the impact sports has made both locally and across the globe and made it known that his community already have plans to key into sports development.
He further noted that Omu-Aran community has acquired a large plot of land to build sports facilities and hence urge the football body to help in fast tracking the development of the site.
“The piece of land was acquired in the late 80s, however there were problems as the land was encroached for another purpose but we were able to recover it.
“I am using this medium to tell the football association to help us inform the state government to offer support”. Oba Adeoti said.
Similarly, the Alofa of Iloofa, His Royal Highness, Charles Dada advised the Kwara football association to be reliable and hardworking while receiving them at his palace in Ilofa.
The monarch who is an astute Tennis player, emphasized the need to set up a well-organised structure to help the continuous development of talented players across the local governments.
While touring the communities, Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Consultancy, also received and hosted Malam Musa and his board members.
The lawmaker described sport as a source of livelihood and revealed that he is ready to promote sports combined with education.
The FA Chairman later presented the state official replica jersey to the monarchs.
In a similar vein, Alh. Suleiman Olokoba has announced that he is ready to offer massive support to the Kwara State Football Association board led by Mallam Idris Abdulahi Musa Thuraya.
This happened on Monday afternoon in Ilorin when the FA Chairman and his board members paid a courtesy visit to the former Special Assistant on Sports to the immediate government in his office.
Olokoba who is the chairman of Ilorin East Football Association pronounced that he is ready to join hands with the current executives in order to develop the round leather game.
“We are Kwarans, we are not going to fold our hands and leave the huge responsibility in football administration to the executives, we are ready to team up and work as a one”, the election has come and gone and from what I have seen so far, it is obvious that the current chairman and his board has a good vision for Kwara state. In fact I’m highly elated to see the new board coming to my office so I want to tell Kwarans that Ilorin East Football Council are ready to offer massive support to Kwara FA”, said Olokoba
Recall that Suleiman Olokoba was the nearest candidate to the current FA boss, Mallam Idris during June 13 Kwara state football elective congress where he polled 6 votes.
