Administrators ’ve important role to play in football devt -Monarch
The Elerin of Erin-Ile community, Oba Abdul Ganiyu Ajibola has called on football stakeholders in Nigeria to work towards stability of football activities in the country.
The Monarch gave the charge while receiving the Kwara football association and other stakeholders at his palace in Erin-Ile on Friday.
While congratulating the new football executives in the state, he advised the inuagurated body and the stakeholders to pursue the development of the state and Nation’s Football Industry over selfish interest or gains.
The monarch who declared support for the administrators also stressed on the need for association to learn to address internal problems without government interference.
Oba Ajibola further said Nigeria football has been dwindling in recent years especially at the local front which he attributed to lack of understanding and poor administration.
“I remembered sometimes ago I bought some trophies to help support a football event.
“I later discovered that the players participating in the championship were unsportsmanlike after resulting to hooliganism to disrupt the game so I had to withdraw my trophies to avoid conflicts in the community.
“This is not just about my community, this something that has been happening across the country and it’s boils down to the administrators’ who should sensitize football starting from the grassroots”. He emphasized.
The traditional ruler was later presented with a giant trophy and jerseys acquired by the association for the upcoming governor’s cup which will involve all the sixteen local governments across the state.
Member of the FA board and other executives are Malam Idris Musa, Alh. Salman Fowola, Mr. Ademola Kiyiesola among others.
