Kwara Dep Gov cautions youths against drug abuse
Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, has cautioned youth against the use of hard drugs that can destroy their future.
Alabi further advised them to shun a social vices so as to build better state, society and country as a whole.
He gave the advice when he visited the Ibrahim Sulu Gambari Drug Abuse rehabilitation centre situated at the state NDLEA headquarters, Akerebiata, Ilorin, on Tuesday.
Deputy Governor lamented that drug abuse has adversely affected lives of several people, prompting them to engage in all forms of vices.
While pledging state government’s support to the noble project, he commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, for his foresight and support towards the stemming of drugs abuse among the people.
Alabi stressed the need for the centre to employ the services of consultants and professionals to train the teachers who would train the drug addicts.
The Chairman of the Committee in charge of the Centre and the Magaji Are of Ilorin, Alhaji Shuaib Zubair in his response thanked the state government for identifying with the project.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Femi Oyebode, had explained that the facility would have Information and Communication Technology Centre, Vocational and Training Centre, Lecture rooms and Clinic among others.
