The Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammed at the weekend celebrated 19 years of his appointment as the 11th Magaji Nda of Ilorin.
He was appointed in 2000 by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
Magaji Nda, who marked the event with a prayer organised at his residence used the occasion to appoint about 10 title holders on the coordination of the Qur’anic sermons for Magaji Nda’s compound.
He said the action was in line with the exploit of the Sheikh Alimi who expanded the fortifiers of the Islamic religion in the state.
He appealed to the people to continue to sustain the existing peace and harmony in the state and support the past and incumbent administrations including the former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and other leaders in the state.
The Magaji Nda advised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq not to allow anybody to devalue the culture of the emirate adding that he should  not allow himself to be used to witch-hunt any political party leader in the state.
On the issue of call for the suspension of the DPMs and treasurers of the local government by the Kwara State House of Assembly, the Magaji Nda said the issue was unnecessary adding that the affected officials are purely civil servants and were never confronted with any allegation. He however commended the Governor for not acting on the House resolution and appealed to him not to.
“There is no reason for the suspension and the ideal thing to do is to transfer them to other local governments.”
He added that the action so far has been trial and error and such fire brigade approach will not augur well for the state.
Those appointed included Alhaji Laaro Agbabiaka as Chairman, Alhaji Amuda  Anu, Seriki Ladani and Alhaja Bilikis Idris Amosa among others.
