2 in prison custody over alleged adultery

Nasiru Tanko and Ige Ibrahim were on Monday remanded in prison custody by a magistrate court, sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State over alleged adultery.
The suspects, were said to have began indulging in the act two years before apprehension.
The duo was said to be having extra marital affairs.
The Police First Information (FIR) revealed that the matter was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Oro and it was later Transferred to the State CIID, Ilorin.
According to the FIR, Emmanuel Muhammed reported the matter at the Force Headquarters in Oro that his Elder brother, Danladi Abubakar caught the suspects while indulging in the illicit act.
Mohammed, according to the Police report further divulged that his brother, Abubakar was the legal husband to the suspect.
When Abubakar challenged Tanko of having affairs with his wife, the FIR revealed that the development led to his sudden disappearance from the community.
The FIR added that till date, the whereabouts of Ibrahim’s husband, (Abubakar) remains unknown while Tanko had continued having canal knowledge of his wife.
In the course of the investigation, Ibrahim was said to have confessed to the crime.
Also, Ibrahim, during the proceedings, informed the court that Tanko used charm to hypnotise her before the  illicit act, saying it was never her wish.
In his submission, the prosecutor, Yusuf Nasir, told the court that the suspects should be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of the police investigation on the matter.
Magistrate Muhammed Dangana who ceded to the submission of the prosecution, remanded the duo in prison custody while the matter was adjourned to 7th August, 2019.
