The Federal Government has been charged to tackle headlong the prevailing insecurity in parts of the country lest it plunges the nation into greater danger.
The Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, the Most Reverend Samuel Adefila Abidoye noted this during a press conference on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of C&S College, Ilorin, Kwara State, yesterday.
The cleric while bemoaning the spate of kidnapping and killings across the country, said the government must look into the security problem before it goes beyond control.
“The Federal Government should look into the issue of kidnapping and killings in the country which have left the citizens of the country sleeping with one eye closed. The abduction and the killing is no longer restricted to the North East. It has gradually spread to the North West, South West and the South South.
“If care is not taken, these crises may not end well for us, we do not pray for another civil war. There should not be any sacred cow in any section of this country,” Abidoye stressed.
He lamented that insecurity challenge has overwhelmed the security forces in the country, adding that the safety of lives and property should be the concern of everyone.
Reacting to the violent clash by members of the Shi’ite Movement, he said the FG must not treat the matter with kid glove.
The cleric urged the FG to take decisive action towards nipping the crisis in the bud before it assumes more dangerous dimension.
On the golden jubilee celebration of the college, the spiritual father said the activities commenced with a road walk on Wednesday while there will be a valedictory service for the 2019 set of SS3 students tomorrow.
On Saturday, he disclosed that there will be N10m fundraising for infrastructural development of the college, adding that the celebration will be rounded up with a Thanksgiving service at the Ilorin District Headquarters of the C&S Church on Sunday.
