In 2019, she joined the State Ministry of Justice as a state counsel. She speaks with ABIODUN BOLUJOKO on her unforgettable experience in court. Excerpts :
The day I will never forget in court was November last year at the Court of Appeal. On this fateful day, my boss suddenly left the court for another assignment, while he was going, he asked me to take over proceedings for that day.
When it was our turn, I announced my appearance before a female Judge and immediately, she started harrassing me that I was not properly dressed. She said ‘You didn’t pack your hair, look at your hair coming out of your wig”.
She further extended the aggression to other female lawyers in the court, lambasting them that they didn’t dress well and decently.
I was so embarrassed, I became shaky and jittery that I couldn’t compose myself for the proceedings. I had to seek for another date.
