The Congress of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara chapter has been scheduled to come up at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Council on Friday August 2nd, beginning from 4.00pm
In a release signed by the Secretary, Olayinka Owolewa, the Congress will role out a programme covering 12 calendar months, and also deliberate on ways of achieving them.
He added that been the first Congress by the present executives, the gathering will also be used to draw operational guidelines and procedures, along with the provisions of the Statutes of SWAN.
The two Ex-Officio members, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Bibire of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Kayode Okunola will be sworn in at the Congress.
Also to be discussed are membership registration, swearing in of Education and Ethics and Disciplinary Committees, and the nomination of members for other committees. Top on the agenda will be update on the Secretariat of Kwara SWAN, which is under construction and others.
SWAN will use the occasion to introduce and decorate the newly appointed Patron of the body, Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson.
The Secretary therefore, enjoined all members to attend, and also be punctual.
