The Upper Area Court 1 sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Tuesday, granted bail to one Musbau Babatunde for allegedly assaulting one Adamu Iliasu.
The police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that on 28th July, 2019 that one ย Iliasu of Meduku area Sango, Ilorin reported at the police station that the defendant assaulted him by dragging him by his cloth.
The defendant was also accused of ย tearing the cloth and using his forehead to hit the complainant on the nose thereby leading to bleeding.
Babatunde was dragged before Justice Abdulyekeen Ahmed for assault and ย causing hurt contrary to section 265 and 340 of the penal code law.
The prosecutor Asp. Mojisola Olamokun in her submission said they were not opposed to the bail of the defendant but will be asking for adjournment.
In his short rulling, Justice Abdulyekeen granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in the like sum.
The surety he said must be a community leader where the defendant resides particularly the area.
