A four day Helbank Inter club Volleyball Championship in honour of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State to Commemorate his 100 Days in office will today round off.
Speaking with this medium yesterday, Coach Wale Gbadamosi said the competion was stage to fish out the squad that will represent Kwara State at the National volleyball championship.
According to him, Kwara volleyball in the recent has envolved in relation to the past years. The Championship featured Male and Female athletes that Competing for honour is also organised to mark the 100 days in office of Governor abdulraman Abdulrazak.
The Competition according to the Organisers is put together by the Kwara State Volleyball Association and Sponsored by its Chairman, Honourable Bashorun Kayode Bankole.
At the group stage, Unilorin beat Challenge Spikers 2 – 0, Ikotun Ile Spikers lost to Spike Panthers 1 – 2. Dynamite Spikers beat Challenge Spikers 2 – 0, Olusin Spikers lost to Offa Volleyball Club 0 – 2. Unilorin beat Royal spikers 2 – 0.
The Championship is also meant to prepare the athletes for the National Youth Games NYG Scheduled for September at the University of Ilorin.
