KWSG restates commitment to potable water
The Kwara State Government has again restated its commitment towards providing potable water to all and sundry in the state.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Press Secretary in the ministry, Mashood Olalekan Issa-Onilu, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Afolabi Adesola Ezekiel, said Kwarans and residents of the state will experience a lot of positive development in all spheres.
While accessing some of the equipment purchased by the state government for reconstruction and rehabilitation of some selected water works within the state, the Permanent Secretary said the development will ensure supply of potable water in all nooks and crannies of the state.
He added that the equipment and materials provided will be channelled towards the repair of selected water works.
Ezekiel, who expressed satisfaction over the delivered items, urged the contractors that would handle the repair to do the job in line with the specification to justify government’s huge investment.
He specifically commended Governor Abdurahman Abdulrazaq for his zeal in making things work within the short period of this administration.
“This government has showed its commitment in making sure that things are put back to normal in Kwara, it is now the responsibility of every individual to support them in whatsoever means most especially prayers and commitment to uplift the state to an enviable height.”
The waterworks that would be rehabilitated include Asa-Dam Waterworks, Igbaja Waterworks, Lafiagi Waterworks, Pategi Waterworks and Kaiama Waterworks among others.
