Nigeria pillar of sports Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike (JP) has called on well to do individuals and corporate firms to support Igbo traders football association.
He stated this on Sunday in his office after accepting to sponsor the annual Igbo traders football tournament which will kick off in September.
Ejidike who has supported the program of the association several times urged friends and well-wishers of the Igbo to assist in the drive to scout for talented footballers among the south East business men domiciled in Ilorin and its environs.
Chief Donatus Ejidike promised that this year tourney will attract a large crowd especially with the innovation of knock out basis to determine the two finalist before December.
Earlier in his speech the chairman of the Kwara State Football Association Mallam Idris Musa Thuraya commended the pillar of sports for his dedication and love to lift the game of football across the country.
The newly elected FA Chairman in Kwara State assured pillar of sports and the Igbo Traders Football Association of unalloyed support and successful competition.
He promised to replace the old trophy and pledged his own personal donation.
ITFA chairman Nze Joseph Igiri expressed gratitude to Nigeria pillar of sports for the financial support to the Association at all times.
Meanwhile, the defending champion youth fc received their cash prize with the runners up to signal a vista in the 2019 tourney solely bankrolled by Nigeria Pillar of Sports.
Dignitaries at the ceremony include ABS Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, Mr Vino Brown, Publisher of Sportspro news Bayour Issah, Chairman of SWAN Kwara State, Jimoh Bashir, Clubs representatives and gentlemen of the press.
