Dignitaries grace fidau for ex-lawmaker, Nimota Ibrahim’s father

Top dignitaries in Kwara State on Wednesday graced the fidau for late Shiekh Muhktar Abdulsalam who died on Saturday in Ilorin at the age of 90 years.
The programme which was held at Amule Secondary School, Okelele in Ilorin East Local Government Area of the state, was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu.
The roll call which cut across the academia, political and religious circles included the former Dean of Religious Studies, University of Ilorin, Prof Lanre Badmus, former Chairman, Kwara State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Suleiman Kayode Maja, former chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani, former Special Adviser Political, Alhaji Usman Ajape Bibire, representative of former Senate President and Director General of ABS, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, Sheikh AbdulRazaq Aduagba, Hon Suleiman Warah and former Chairman Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hon Isiaka Mogaji.
Others include former memebers of the House of Representatives, Hon Wahab Isa, Hon Abubakar Amuda Kanike and Hajia Nimota Obawankasi, former APC Senatorial chairman Kwara Central, Alhaji Jimoh Adesina, his counterpart in Kwara South, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, former Chairman Kwara State Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Adebayo, former Commissioner for Health, Suleiman Atolagbe Alege, former Kwara State lawmakers, Hon Ebun Owolabi, Hon Aishat Bodunrin, Hon Sikirat Anako and Hon Fatai Baakini, former Deputy Chief of Staff, Christopher Ayeni, PDP elders in Ilorin East, Ahmed Dembo and Alhaji AbdulRaheem Olesin, former SA Political, Kwara Central, Alhaji Hassan Gegele, former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Babatunde Muhammed, State PDP Chairman, Engr Kola Shittu, former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Government, Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola and Regional Manager, Leadership Newspaper, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, among others.
The Imam Imale of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi AbdulHamid and Imam Gambari, Alhaji Suleiman AbdulAzeez also led other traditional title holders to the event.
In his sermon, the Grand Mukadam of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Danborno said the deceased who was a very humble personality who prioritised the welfare and wellbeing of his children and the progress of his community.
He described the deceased as a very religious person who exemplified goodness in all his dealings with the people and called on the people to emulate him.
Danborno however seriously warned on the consequence of talking anytime the Glorious Qur’an is being recited at ceremonies to avoid the wrath of Almighty Allah .
In her remark, the eldest child of the deceased, Hajia Nimota Ibrahim said the people that converged to witness the fidau and their tributes were testimony that her late father lived a good life worthy of emulation.
