Ex-Kwara APC guber aspirant to immortalise late parents

 

A former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Mallam Yakub Gobir, has promised to set up a foundation to immortalise his late parents.
Gobir reveal this in an interview with news men after the Fidau for his late mother, Hajia Belawu Gobir who died penultimate Friday at the age of 78.
According to him, although he had of setting up a foundation for his parents all along, the death of his mother will fast track the process of its establishment to assist the youth and women in the community.
He said “I lost my dad almost 23 years ago and since then, I have been thinking that at a certain point I will like to set up a foundation to help the community, mainly the women and youth.
“And now with the death of my mum, I think the time is ripe to launch that foundation and very soon we will unfold the programmes that will complete the process and how we intend to go about it”.
The Fidau was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammad Bashiru Soliu and assisted by the Balogun Agba of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi AbdulHamid among other top traditional chiefs and top party stalwarts.
While thanking the people who attended Fidau held at the family compound at Gambari, Ilorin, Gobir prayed for Allah protection and their safety back.
“I am highly honoured and extremely overwhelmed by the caliber of people that came for the Fidau from Katsina, Kano and across the length and breadth of the country”, he added.
