Don’t mislead people with your sermon, cleric charges Imams

The visiting Imam of Adewole mosque, Ajakuta street, Ilorin, Kwara State, Olayiwola Ahmed has charged Muslim clerics not to mislead their followers with their preachings.
He said clerics are expected to speak the truth with in messages backed by injunctions from the Quran.
He stated this at the Juma’at service prayer during his sermon before the traditional two rakat.
“Our society needs truth, those that will say the truth and those who will follow the truth.”
Ahmed also urged Imams to use the happenings in the country to preach to Muslims and make recourse to the Holy Book.
“It’s the right of Imam to talk on the affairs of the state and country. Any Imam that refuses to say the truth according to what Allah has laid down will face His wrath.”
Ahmed stated that truth commands respect, adding that the major cause of corruption is the lack of honesty among people.
“To fight corruption Muslims and people in general need to be truthful.
“Clerics should desist from taking bribe because once they do they will not be able to speak the truth.”
He tasked parents to lead their children on the path of truth because they are leaders of tomorrow, stressing that it’s truth that will take one to paradise.
