Darts Federation to take sport to schools — Amuda

 

A retired Permanent Secretary in Kwara and Vice President of the Darts Federation of Nigeria, Alhaji Alabi Amuda has pledged the federation’s resolve to take the sports to schools.
Amuda said this recently when he received the leadership of the Kwara chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), in his office in Ilorin, the state capital.
He explained that the game of Darts requires concentration, focus, determination and precision to win.
“We are introducing the game of dart from the Primary School level.
“There is no way it would not instill discipline, focus and determination on students” Amuda said.
The Darts Federation Vice President promised to use his influence and good  connections to assist the  Kwara chapter of the association in its bid to stage a befitting 2020 Media Games and complete its secretariat.
Amuda who used the meeting to highlights the activities and programmes of the federation emphasized that it has organised series of seminar for members, established League Management Company and referee Council with Hajia Rasheedat Abdulkareem of Kwara State as member  to assist in the technicality of the game dart.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustain the monetary reward to the winners of dart in the  SWAN Media games coming up next year just as he did in the previous edition to encourage participants to take  career in the game.
He congratulated Kwara SWAN executives and other Members  over the success recorded in the last election, stressing the new leadership have not disappointed him in their activities rather working towards leaving a good legacy.
Earlier, the state Chairman of the association, Mr Jimoh Bashir praised the leadership quality of Amuda in ensuring that the game of dart receive desired attention from the grassroots.
While seeking for the support of darts association  in the state in its lined up programmes , Bashir maintained that Kwara SWAN would partner various institutions in the State especially Mass Communication department to organise workshop for upcoming Journalists to complement the theoretical knowledge of the profession.
He expressed the determinations of the association in projecting the programmes of Darts federation in the media to achieve its goals.
