KWSG charges corps members on nation building

Corps members in Kwara State have been urged to take advantage of
their service year to prepare them towards self development and
eventually becoming employers of labour.
The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq
gave the charge yesterday during the official closing ceremony and the
end of orientation parade for the 2019 Batch B stream II corps members
at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of
Kwara State.
The Governor who was represented at the event by the Secretary of
State Government (SSG), Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril, congratulated the
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on the successful completion of
their orientation course.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Issa Mohammed, the
SSG, said, “this is the first stage of your national service which
prepares you for the enormous task of contributing your own quota to
national development.”
The state government however saluted the courage, patriotism,
doggedness and loyalty demonstrated throughout the 21 days exercise.
He said the objectives of the NYSC scheme are as relevant today as
they were in those years.
He therefore assured corps members of their welfare and safety in the
state even as he charged them to accept their posting in good faith
and report promptly to their place of primary assignment.
In her remarks, the state Coordinator of NYSC Mrs Estther Tosin
Ikupolati described the Batch “B” corps members as unique, discipline
and patriotic individuals throughout the orientation exercise. She
therefore urged them to be of good conduct throughout their service
year in the state.
Mrs. Ikupolati appreciated Governor Abdulrazaq for his support even as
she added that the posting of corps members was done in line with NYSC
policy.
