Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has rewarded best students
of the summer school organised by community-based Youth Development
Associations across the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The gesture is part of Student Capacity Building and Development
(SCBD) programme of Saraki.
The items which include school bags, textbooks and notebooks were
given to the best three students in each of the benefitting summer
schools.
The prizes were distributed through the Mandate office of the former
Kwara State governor.
The best students were selected from Primary 1 to Primary 6, JSS 1 to
JSS 3 and SS1 to SS 3 classes.
They were selected based on the standards set by the organisers of the
summer lessons while items were presented by representatives of the
Mandate office, ward party executives and other stakeholders involved
in the planning and implementation of the programme.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Project and Empowerment to Dr.
Saraki, Mr Olayinka Ibrahim (Otukoko), said the summer school is one
of many capacity building programmes of Saraki aimed at developing
capacities of youths in Kwara Central Senatorial District and Kwara
State at large.
