Cleric to Youths: Shun internet fraud, move close to Allah

The Imam of Musulumi fe Alafia Mosque, Malete, Moro Local Government
of Kwara State, Ustaz Abdulwahab Omoware has urged youths in the state
in particular to shun internet fraud, cultism, drug abuse and other
crimes which he noted are wrong.
The Muslim cleric particularly noted that youths should not commit sin
against Allah in the quest to make money, stressing that Prophet
Muhammad (SAW) also warned against such acts.
Omoware made this known while delivering his Juma’at sermon (khutba)
at the Malete Central mosque on Friday, adding that the youths should
think of their hereafter before engaging in any act(s).
He therefore charged parents to be very vigilant and watch their
children’s movement and behaviours, advising that they should be
enrolled
to acquire Islamic knowledge that will purify their hearts and move
them closer to Allah.
“Majority of youths nowadays engaged in hard drugs the intake that can
destroy their lives which has increased crime rate in the society on
daily basis.
“There’s no how you do drugs that it will not intoxicate you to engage
in  criminal activities such as armed robbery, kidnapping and other
heinous crimes.
“Parents should join hands with security operatives to fight crime.
Parents should not just sit down and watch, they should report such
child to the police for community to be peaceful”, he added.
He charged clerics to show concern and have a special focus on the
youths during their sermons, adding that it will help soften their
hearts.
“These days, the youth have developed a heart of stone and engage in
smoking marijuana, hard drugs, robbery, phone stealing among other
crimes.
“Government should put security in every institution to wipe out those
youths engaging in crime such as cultism among others”, he submitted.
