Man steals 3 rams, escapes arrest in Ilorin

A 30-year-old suspect simply identified as Bolaji escaped arrest after
stealing rams worth N500,000 in Ilorin, Kwara State, last Thursday.
The suspect was said to have been caught by residents of Ogidi area
of Ilorin, while attempting to cart away the rams at Ogidi area of
Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The rams were said to belong to one Abdullateef who also resides at Ogidi area.
According to eyewitness, the suspect was seen dragging one of the
rams while others followed his lead.
“In the process, a relative of the owner of the rams saw the suspect
with the domestic animals.
“He challenged the suspect and asked him where he was taking the rams
to. The duo started to bicker on the matter, which later attracted
passersby who intervened.
“The relative put a call through to the owner of the rams who said he
was somewhere along Geri Alimi area.
“The picture of the rams were taken and sent to the owner through
whatsapp and he confirmed that the rams belonged to him.
However, in the process of conveying the suspect to police station,
he took to his heels leaving behind the stolen rams. Though he was
given ho chase by residents he escaped being arrested. The rams were
later returned to the owner.”
