Embattled President of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria, Ibrahim
Gusau, has been invited for questioning by the six-man committee set
up by the Acting President of federation, Olamide George.
The AFN had been entangled in crisis, ranging from PUMA sponsorship
terms of agreement, possible payments made and equipment delivered to
AFN. All which resulted in the board suspending Gusau as president of
the AFN.
In the letter of invitation sent to the suspended president, he was
directed to appear before the committee to answer questions pertaining
to the affairs of the federation from the year 2017 to date.
“I have the honour of informing you that the Board of Athletics
Federation of Nigeria acting on petition before it inaugurated a
Committee to investigate activities of the Federation between 2017
till date and to invite you to a meeting with the Committee scheduled
to hold as follows,” the letter reads.
The letter signed by the chairman of the committee, Oluwole Afolabi,
also requested that Gusau bring along with him relevant documents as
they relate to his administration from the date under review.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 18 at the AFN Board room, MKO
Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
