Episode from Buhari’s House of Commotion

Rare, unpredictable and lethal but worthy of notice, the lingering
tune of discord that is bedevilling the first family in recent times,
deserve our concerns, don’t you think? Maybe only the liberally minded
will give it a thought that way, don’t you still think so as well? I
know you know the whole song; I don’t have to sing for you the
tragic-comedy of the whole drama, don’t you really think so as well?
Something that has now become a daily but unimaginable episode
reoccurring unabated, don’t you think this is so too? From the video
saga circulated by Fatima Daura and now to Aisha Buhari’s uninhibited
attack on Garba Shehu with no qualms, these should do more than
unsettling the Presidency, don’t you think too? Some of the pathetic
scenarios within the presidency have become number one hit news,
trending across not only digital cyberspace but even among the market
men and women gist.
Power resides where we believe it resides, it is a trick. Despite many
attempts to manage this protracted conflicts in Aso Rock that has
squared up President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, against the
president’s cousin, Mamman Daura, it then became open when the first
lady, the wife of the president finally spilled the beans as she holds
no bald in a statement in which she accused Senior Special Assistant
to her husband on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu of more than
disloyalty but a willing tool and executioner of terrible antics.
Create a good name yourself the world will beat a path to your door
and pay you handsomely. But some people really hate to being at
lectured at, encouraged to think about their lifestyle or told what
they are doing is not good enough. Actions has consequences.
The knight who fails to protect his lord will stay in vale where they
belong. There are very few, those who are in the exceptions, who are
able to think and feel beyond the present moment. In reference to a
statement she personally signed, the first lady accused Shehu of
transferring his loyalty to Daura and working against the interest of
the first family, noting that he had been “a willing tool and
executioner of their antics”.
Cry not oh Aisha, many Nigerians came out to admonish the first lady
in her many outbursts which always seem to faell on the wrong sides of
her husband’s ears. But why will Shehu take instructions from Daura
rather than from the president orput mildly from the first lady to
some extent. According to Aisha, it was Daura that directed Shehu
Garba to announce at the beginning of Buhari’s administration that
there won’t be an office of the first lady, a development which many
saw as embarrassment not only to president but also seen to be at
variance to the politicians belief, it has become an institution
recognised.
The problem created by this ill advised actions are more than
political, but rather than face his defined responsibility squarely,
Shehu opted and shifted his loyalty from the president to others who
have no stake in the contract that the president signed with Nigerians
on May 29, 2015 and 2019 when he took the oaths of office.
To make matters worse, Mr. Shehu has presented himself to these people
(who seem to have taken over the duty of the president) as a willing
tool and executioner of their antics, from the corridors of power even
to the level of interfering with the very personal and family affairs
of the president.
According to schedule details of the office of the president’s
spokesperson, he has the onerous responsibility of managing the image
of the president and all the works he is executing in the country. But
how come the spokesperson began to play terrible instead of treble
notes seems rather too unusual and dangerous to be overlooked
considering the effect of such behaviour on our country’s image. The
first lady insisted that the president’s media aide had betrayed the
trust of the first family and advised him to resign.
This should not be so. The deliberate meddling in the affairs of a
first lady of a country is a continuation of the prodigal actions of
those that he serves. I should think it is about time for roles of
aides, family and friends of the president and his vice should be
redefined and spelt out such that each of them will know to whom they
owed allegiance.
Through the video circulated by Fatima, the public was given the
impression that on arrival into the country I was locked out of the
villa by Mr. President. As many Nigerians expected Shehu as the
villa’s spokesperson, knew the truth and had the responsibility to set
the records straight, but because his allegiance is somewhere else and
his loyalty misplaced, he deliberately refused to clear the air and
speak for the president who appointed him in the first place.
Consequently, his is action shown a complete breakdown of trust
between the first family and him.
History remember the chief proponent, some of the unconscious moves
noticed by Nigerians subconscious are picking up. Garba then vented
his anger on the National Television Authority (NTA) management
insisting that the media crew to my office must be sacked. He
succeeded in getting them suspended for doing their job. “I had to
intervene to save the innocent staff from losing their means of
livelihood by involving the Department of State Services (DSS) in
order to ascertain roles played by key actors in the saga, said the
first lady.
It is at this late hour that I recall, sadly, that it was the same
Garba Shehu, who claimed that the government will not allow office of
the first lady to run. It was rumoured that he later to confirmed to
one of her aides that he was instructed to say so by Mamman Daura and
not the president. This antic attracted the anger of Nigerian women.
He didn’t realise the fact that the first lady’s office is a tradition
which has become an institution.
To clear the air on the many rumours that took over social media, a
job he (Shehu) was supposed to do but seen mute to cause more
confusion and instability for his principal and his family. Loyal
service is telling the truth.
Assumptions are truly bad; bring things out in the open, so there are
no assumptions. Source claimed Shehu was privy and part of the plan
and its execution and he was shocked when he realised that Hajia Aisha
had publicised her return to Nigeria in October.
A man who never prepares his children for his own death has failed as
a father. Monsters of their own making, more connects you all than
separates you. To all parties involved, self control and delayed
gratification are useful arts to learn in dealing such situations will
go a long way in saving citizens the embarrassment of viewing the
president’s domestic affairs on social media and in the market place.
Let us all stand-up for what is right. Nigerians don want to be fooled
by the rational sounding labelling one another…to many it irrational
technical nonsense. Ayobrown, Senior System Analyst, National Pilot
