Basketball: NBBF Referees Workshop ends in Ilorin

 

Over twenty (20) basketball referees and table officials came from several states to take part at the three days organised workshop which was held in Ilorin between February 13 – 16th, 2020.
The workshop organised by the Musa Kida led board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, was aimed at educating, assessing, reviewing and improving basketball officials on the latest rules of the game which was coordinated by the trio of Kingsley Ojeaburu, Rasaq Okedeyi and Opeyemi Ogunleye.
While addressing participants at the seminar, Chairman, Director of Sports Forum in Nigeria, Coach Tunde Kazeem, commended the organisers for creating a platform for aspiring games officials and restated the states commitments in hosting further sporting activities.
The Federation (NBBF) League Director, Andrew Isopkhai applauded the state for it’s warm reception during and after the workshop and observed that the NBBF will key into future partnership with the sport sector in Kwara.
Earlier, Chairman of the Kwara state basketball Association, Dr. Joseph Adeyemo charge the game officials to ensure sustey of values of transparency, credibility, integrity and maintain strict compliance to the laws of the games while discharging their duties.
During the end of the seminar, the coordinators (Kingsley, Ope and Rasak) expressed satisfaction towards the clinic and praised the state sports council for the warm reception while assuring of staying away from all forms of controversy and Politics which may hinder the development of basketball in Nigeria.
