Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has called on Northwest governors and Niger State to come out with a joint security outfit to defeat rampaging banditry in the region.
Thousands of people have been killed by bandits in the last three years in the Northwest region with the governments unable to curtail the rampaging attacks.
He said unless the Northwest governors and Niger State come together for meaningful action against bandits, more havoc would still be done.
In his words: “North West Governors and Niger State must come out with a well funded and well equipped joint security outfit; to share intelligence and work together with the police to combat Banditry in the region, or else they will continue to watch their people daily being helplessly slaughtered.
”Enough blood has been spilled in this region, the fear of not wanting to offend the Federal Government will not solve the problem,” he said.
