SMEDAN, Emirate forum partner to train 150 Kwarans on entrepreneurship

The Ilorin Emirate Protection Forum (IEPF) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) have partnered to trains 150 Kwara state indigenes from Ilorin West.
At a 3-Day entrepreneurship training programme held in Ilorin to mark the completion of the exercise for the beneficiaries last week, the training coordinator, Mohammed Ahmed explained that the essence of the entrepreneurship training was designed to train 150 potential and existing entrepreneurs and business owners in the State.
He emphasised that the idea was conceived by SMEDAN as a way of further increasing participation and involvement of youths in entrepreneurial activities that will end youths’ over-dependency on the limited white-collar jobs.
Ahmed also said the entrepreneurial training will remain a continuous exercise and will hold at different local government areas across the state.
IEPF, he said, have entered into various sensitization and partnership programmes with individuals and non-governmental organizations periodically with a view to bringing about societal development and preservation of rich cultural heritage peculiar to the people of state.
IEPF is a non-governmental and non-partisan organization initiated in 2019 by Ilorites with its membership cutting across the Emirates. The Executive Chairman of the Forum is Mr. Muhammed Lawal, an indigene of Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Its principal goals are uniting the entire Emirate system, acceleration of even human capital development, protection of cultural norms and heritage, empowerment, ending youth restiveness and reorientation of the entire society.
