Toyin Saraki, wife of former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the passing of a jurist of the United States of America, Ruth Vader Ginsburg.
Ginsburg, was an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
In her condolence message, Saraki said, “I am saddened by the news that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is gone.
She was a legal colossus, and a lighthouse for excellence and courage in feminism globally.
“I particularly respected her belief in incremental practical methods to implement enduring social change – her distinguished career as the oldest and longest serving Justice of US Supreme Court will never be forgotten nor erased.”
The Founder of Wellbeing Foundation, added, “At every #UNGA75 session this week, held virtually due to the #COVID19 pandemic, throughout the various themes we have discussed and deliberated on, from women in the African diaspora to women in global health leadership, and my particular interest in mitigating the global disruptions in essential health services to women and children from the COVID-19, I have emphasized the existential importance of encouraging equality, equity, equal pay and women’s leadership around our #SDGActions – to close the gender gap within stronger collaborations for safer births, better health and optimistic prospects for the wellbeing of all.
“Our work is encouraged by her spirit. May Ruth’s brave soul rest in peace. Amen”.
