Leadership Accountability

Accountability simply means to be responsible for your decisions or actions and expected to explain them when you are asked. Accountability can be shared, in other words and accountability can also mean you are answerable to your actions. Every leader is accountable to God and the people who chose them. II Cor. 5:10
Why Leadership accountability?
1. Because we are all steward in this world
2. Because God has deposited a lot in everyone e.g talents, gifts e.t.c.
3. Because we don’t own ourselves
4. Because we have limited time and jurisdiction to cover.
5. Because of the judgment day is near
6. Because Heaven is watching us everyday.
How to remain accountable and responsible
1. Fear of God.
2. Total dedication to God and His service
3. Doing things unto God and not to man
3. Always keeping the Day of Judgment in mind.
5. Loyalty to God.
6. Faithfulness.
Enemies of Accountability
1. Greediness
2. Covetousness
3. Worldliness
4. Love of money than the love of God.
5. Temptation
6. Lack of self-control
Reasons why Christian Leaders must be accountable
• Because it is biblical
• Because leaders often hide their sins.
• Because it forces leader to swallow pride
• Leader who is accountable is more likely to end well with accountability in place.
• Accountability can help one to prevent stress.
• It gives opportunity to perform better in any future task.
• It helps to develop the organisation more than how one met it.
Accountable Leader
Ø Must be focus
Ø Must be Visionary
Ø Must be resourceful
Ø Must be relational
Ø Must be a problem solver
Ø Must be transparent.
Conclusion
Both secular and sacred leaders must accountable. In fact the hallmark of leadership in any organisation must accountability.
